ABSTRACT
Climate change mitigation and adaptation along with air pollution are key challenges that require a comprehensive planning approach able to promote win-win strategies avoid transferring environmental pressures from one sector another. The joint is widely advocated at the policy level while scientific research investigates role of co-benefits in processes. A methodological framework was developed twofold aim (i) assessing current integration degree between regional Air Quality Plans (ii) providing useful hints for pursuing greater air-climate integration. Its application Italian case study provides implications strengthening as drivers Results show can be achieved by enhancing authorities supporting implementation local-scale plans actions. This especially important contexts where an integrated lacking mainstreaming within sectoral sub-regional turns out crucial.
