ABSTRACT
The stress and deformation of the body frame chassis a coach subjected to bending, torsion, emergency braking returning must be considered during design manufacture passenger vehicles. model 29/34-seat in this investigation is newly designed vehicle based on old coach; most significant change has been chassis. It vital ensure it remains safe durable when operates road 4 cases mentioned above. Therefore, purpose study optimise maintain stable state structure by using Taguchi method grey relational analysis. This as variables changes number crossbars roof thickness those bars, goal reduce weight while ensuring durability. finite element analysis applied OptiStruct module HyperMesh analyse optimal outcomes indicated that error between predictive value grade proposed optimisation regression are 6% 1.05%, respectively. results changed, changed significantly. greatly reduced vehicle. values also recorded cases: for bending process 9.675 mm 153.61 MPa were recorded; torsion process, 11.849 168.61 MPa; 10.569 161.66 rotation 16.162 200.5 MPa. helped 11.5%.
