ABSTRACT
Magnesium alloys are used in aircraft because of their light weight. However, for these to be applied electronic devices, high thermal conductivities required. Several high-potential compositions Mg–Zn–Y–Zr were selected by phase composition and freezing ranges calculated using Thermo-Calc software. The prepared, fluidity, hot tearing susceptibility, mechanical properties, conductivity obtained compared. alloy composed Mg–4 wt% Zn–3 Y–0.3 Zr was further investigation, its satisfactory properties. alloy's fluidity susceptibility similar those the widespread AZ91 commercial casting magnesium alloy. influence a heat treatment regime on microstructure, conductivity, properties developed also investigated. It established that room temperature after aging at 300 °C 5 h 105 W/mK. Additionally, following tensile test results aged condition: 120 MPa yield strength, 200 ultimate 4% elongation. utilization solid solution 520 8 prior can promote up 9% increase as material with industrial applications.
