ABSTRACT
Arsenic is a highly toxic and carcinogenic element, which poses huge threat to millions of people. The toxicity arsenic links its solubility. Therefore, the immobilization great significance. Among series materials (include arsenate, arsenite arsenide), scorodite most suitable one due excellent stability. In this study, we propose novel method synthesize using ferrihydrite as an in situ iron donator. process occurs via dissolution followed by coprecipitation ions on surface ferrihydrite. A experiments were carried out investigate optimal reaction conditions applicable scope initial concentration for process. results indicated that 99.9% was removed from aqueous solution immobilized stable at time 6 h, pH 1.5, Fe/As molar ratio 1.1 temperature 90°C. This with ranging 1 10 g/L, shows potential practical applications.
