ABSTRACT
The influence of temperature on the speed an electrochemical coloration process AISI 304 and 430 stainless steel was investigated in ranging from 25 °C to 40 °C. surface properties interference colored nanofilms obtained both types substrates, were also evaluated. A higher coloring observed for 304. time obtain a gold color decreased with increasing steels. This effect stronger substrate, decrease 36.6% samples at Arrhenius model applied estimate equations films growth rate. porous fractions evaluated by SEM range 27–29%, without relevant variation temperature. nanohardness conjugated film-substrate nanoindenter coupled AFM shows lower values than uncolored this reduction is more significant grown ferritic specimens. wettability water oil increased after coloring. amplification hydrophilic can be associated nanorugosity values.
