Influence of heat input on the appearance, microstructure and microhardness of pulsed gas metal arc welded Al alloy weldment

ABSTRACT
In order to achieve high-quality welding of aluminum alloys, reasonable control heat input is critical. Different combinations parameters can the same input, however, relevant research results has not been reported. this paper, pulsed-gas metal arc (P-GMAW) 4047 Al–Si alloy was used as object. Combining design current, voltage and speed, three sets with were obtained, experiments carried out on them. The formation, microstructure mechanical properties weld bead analyzed. show that under effect current remarkable. With increase two, penetration, width spreadability increased, low melting point precipitates became more aggregated. At time, average hardness increased from 98.27 HV 104.4 HV, i.e., 6.2%.
