ABSTRACT
The traditionally used low-reduction rolling (LRR) always causes a 'TD-split' texture (TD: transverse direction) in Mg–Zn–RE alloy plates, which results planar anisotropy the mechanical properties and limited formability. Therefore, it is necessary to modify such reduce increase In present work, unidirectional approach, final-pass heavy reduction (FHRR), was applied Mg–1Zn–1Y–0.5Zr ingot have exhibited using LRR. It found that, when ratio of above 50% combined by suitable annealing, symmetrical ring-like formed, where basal poles tilted about 50° from normal direction (ND) towards both TD (RD). rolled plates an obviously reduced anisotropy: yield strength along RD (RYSR/T) 1.13–1.17, much lower than that with upon FHRR 30% annealing (RYSR/T: 1.34). To reveal formation mechanism texture, microstructure evolution during thus investigated attention paid on role reduction. Besides, effect as-annealed discussed terms its association activities different deformation mechanisms.
