ABSTRACT
High-entropy carbide ceramics have attracted extensive attentions for potential applications as high temperature structural materials, the mechanical and tribological performance of (TiNbTaWMo)C high-entropy carbides over wide range combined with oxidation behavior were investigated in present study. successfully prepared from five kinds powders by spark plasma sintering at 2000 °C. The properties room –800 °C studied. Vickers hardness, bending strength fracture toughness sintered are 21.31 ± 0.43 GPa, 477.15 34.17 MPa, 6.41 0.85 MPa m1/2, respectively. At temperature, friction coefficient is stable 0.35, wear rate low 3.39 × 10−7 mm3/Nm. With increasing, increases firstly decreases above 600 °C, which contributed formation oxide films temperatures. mechanisms different temperatures discussed detail microstructures phase analysis worn surfaces together behaviors 800
