ABSTRACT
Using hydrogen to produce iron is a promising way for the steel industry achieve goal of carbon neutrality. The reducibility iron-bearing oxides by significantly impacts productivity and energy consumption during reduction process. This study investigated competitive kinetics different bearing pellets including ore pellets, bauxite residue calcium-added sintered self-hardened at isothermal condition. Various characterization tools, such as X-ray diffraction, electron probe analysis, fluorescence, were used examine properties pellets. These exhibit porosity, overall composition. time required 50 % reduction(R50) 1000 °C approximately 2 min residue-CaO while 6 min. Moreover, 700 °C, R50 value reduced CaO compared other owing diminished brownmillerite (Ca2(Alx,Fe(2-x))O5) in contrast hematite found It was highlighted that factors porosity unreduced types grainsize influences Furthermore, process, all observed with rapid initial stage, subsequent transition final slow stage.
