ABSTRACT
Bedding rock slopes are common geological features in nature that prone to failure under strong earthquakes. Their failures induce catastrophic landslides and form barrier lakes, posing severe threats people's lives property. Based on the similarity criteria, a bedding slope model with length of 3 m, width 0.8 height 1.6 m was constructed facilitate large-scale shaking table tests. The results showed increase vibration time, natural frequency decreased, but damping ratio increased. Damage mass structure altered dynamic characteristics slope; therefore, amplification acceleration found be nonlinear uneven. Furthermore, amplified nonlinearly elevation along surface vertical section, maximum factor (AAF) occurred at crest. Before visible deformation, AAF increased increasing intensity; however, it decreased intensity after obvious deformation. likely slide planes shallow depth below surface. upper part mainly experienced tensile-shear effect, whereas lower suffered compressive-shear force. progressive process can divided into four stages, dislocated summarized three zones. testing data provide good explanation behavior when subjected an earthquake may serve as helpful reference implementing antiseismic measures for earthquake-induced landslides.
