ABSTRACT
The present study demonstrates the miquelianin or quercetin 3-O-glucuronide (compound 1) isolated from aerial parts of Euphorbia schimperi exhibited significant results for antioxidant and antidiabetic potential. compound 1 along with kaempferol 2) 3-O-rhamnoside 3) same source were quantified by validated HPTLC method. Antioxidant activity was determined chemical means in terms ABTS radical cation DPPH scavenging activity. Compound showed both assays as compared to standard BHA. In method IC50 values BHA is found be 58.90 ± 3.40 µg/mL 28.70 5.20 respectively while assay 47.20 4.90 34.50 6.20 respectively. Antidiabetic effect studied through α-amylase α-glucosidase inhibitory mechanistic approach molecular modelling also support strong binding sites which activities 128.34 12.30 89.20 9.20 acarbose 64.20 5.60 52.40 4.60 RP-HPTLC analyses revealed concentration 16.39 µg/mg 2 3 3.92 14.98 dried extract,
