ABSTRACT
The current research explores in vitro antioxidant characteristics, radiation-induced DNA damage protection and quenching effects of the oxidative stress by ethanolic leaf extract Abutilon indicum (EEAI) on human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs). PBLs were incubated with various concentrations EEAI accompanied pre- post-treatment hydrogen peroxide. Cell viability was investigated MTT assay. In addition, free radicals measured using DPPH, superoxide anion, peroxide, reducing power nitric oxide radical scavenging assays. These activities compared ascorbic acid as standard antioxidants. Furthermore, inhibition UV strand break formation plasmid pBR322 anti-Fenton reactions calf thymus evaluated. Cytotoxic peroxide significantly reduced pre-treatment to a dose-dependent manner comparable similar cytoprotective (p > 0.05). has shown strong oxide. also protective effect UV-induced cleavage Fenton-induced damage. Overall, results revealed that cytoprotective, potent provide pharmacological credence justify its overall biological activity. future studies identifying bioactive molecules molecular mechanisms responsible for promising therapeutic applications rescue disease-induced cellular
