ABSTRACT
Abstract Surface-coating is one of the most effective strategies for improving the electrochemical properties of traditional materials. This paper outlines MgCo2O4 nanorods synthesis using an oxalate decomposition method, and surface-modification through use of TiO2. When used as anode in lithium-ion batteries, MgCo2O4@TiO2 composites demonstrate remarkable electrochemical properties. One of the reasons for this is possibly due to the TiO2 coating layer forming a stabile SEI layer, which buffers volume variation, and improves structural stability and electrical conductivity.
