ABSTRACT
Abstract In this study, a green diatom-based Cr(VI) ion-imprinted adsorbent material (DE/Cr(VI)-IIP) was synthesized by surface ion imprinting technique using diatoms (DE) as the base material, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) as the functional monomer, Cr(VI) as the template ion, and epichlorohydrin (ECH) as the selective cross-linker. The adsorption process was optimized and the selective adsorption of the imprinted material in the mixed system was performed, and the results showed that the diatom-based Cr(VI) surface ion-imprinted adsorbent material is an alternative method for the removal of Cr(VI) ions from wastewater.
