ABSTRACT
The NADC34-like porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus 2 (PRRSV-2) first emerged in China 2017 has the potential to become dominant PRRSV strain China. Here, a novel PRRSV-2, SCcd2020, was isolated from diseased piglets Sichuan province, southwest 2020. complete viral genome determined analyzed. An ORF5-based phylogenetic analysis showed that SCcd2020 clustered with strains, whereas sequence isolate NADC30-like viruses it contains discontinuous 131-aa deletion NSP2 when compared NADC30 strain. Notably, recombination analyses indicated is multiple recombinant NADC30-like, JXA1-like which description of Chinese domestic HP-PRRSV involving event an Importantly, animal challenge study 4-week-old causes high fever severe hemorrhagic pneumonia pulmonary consolidation edema, mortality rate (60%), highly pathogenic reports emergence strain, highlights importance monitoring newly emerging strains
