ABSTRACT
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects approximately 10% of the global population. The abundance Akkermansia muciniphila (AKK) is significantly reduced in CKD patients. This study investigated effects AKK bacteria on damage and renal interstitium rats with CKD.CKD model 5/6 nephrectomy were used. supplemented (2 × 108 cfu/0.2 mL) for 8 weeks.AKK administration suppressed epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), high-throughput 16S rRNA pyrosequencing showed that supplementation restored disordered intestinal microecology rats. also enhanced mucosal barrier function. may regulate reduce interstitial fibrosis by enhancing probiotics reducing to barrier. The results suggest could be a novel therapeutic strategy treating CKD.
