ABSTRACT
Monensin succinate ester hydrate (2-H2O) has been synthesized by the succinylation of C-26 hydroxyl group monensin (1) using a simple reaction with succinic anhydride. Additionally, sodium salt (2-Na) obtained. Molecular structures both compounds (2-H2O and 2-Na) were studied X-ray diffraction single crystals spectroscopic methods. According crystallographic studies 2-H2O 2-Na, molecules are held together as dimers linked centrosymmetric pairs intermolecular hydrogen bonds between carboxylic groups. The crystal 2-Na compared to those known acid (1-H2O) 1:1 inclusion complex A acetonitrile (1-Na-CH3CN) that newly obtained monohydrate (1-Na-H2O). Comparison these showed significant impact moiety on coordination Na+ cation bond.
