ABSTRACT
The balance between neural oscillations provides valuable insights into the organisation of related to brain states, which may play important roles in dystonia. We aim investigate relationship globus pallidus internus (GPi) with dystonic severity under different muscular contraction conditions.Twenty-one patients dystonia were recruited. All them underwent bilateral GPi implantation, and local field potentials (LFPs) from recorded via simultaneous surface electromyography. power spectral ratio was computed as measure balance. This calculated high low conditions, its correlation assessed using clinical scores. The pallidal LFPs peaked theta alpha bands. Within participant comparison showed that significantly increased during muscle compared contraction. ratios alpha, beta, gamma higher than total score motor associated beta oscillations, correlated both contractions. a positive contractions; scale found only Meanwhile, negative score. gamma, contraction. The quantified by specific frequency bands, differed conditions severity. making this parameter new possible biomarker for closed-loop deep stimulation
