ABSTRACT
In the present communication, pure and stable α-Bismuth Oxide (Bi2O3) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by low temperature solution combustion method using urea as a fuel calcined at 500oC. The sample was characterized powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy dispersive analysis (EDAX), Transmission (TEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) UV–Visible absorption spectroscopy. PXRD pattern confirms formation of mono-clinic, phase α-Bi2O3. direct optical energy band gap estimated Wood Tauc's relation which found to be 2.81 eV. studied for X-ray/gamma ray shielding properties in range 0.081–1.332 MeV NaI (Tl) detector multi channel analyzer (MCA). measured parameters agrees well with theory, whereas, slight deviation up 20% is observed below 356 keV. This mainly due influence atomic size target medium. Furthermore an accurate theory necessary explain interaction NPs.The work opens new window use this facile, economical, efficient, synthesize nanomaterials purpose.
