ABSTRACT
The high luminosity requirement for a future linear collider sets demanding limit on the beam quality at Interaction Point (IP). One potential source of loss is motion ground itself. resulting misalignments quadrupole magnets cause distortions to orbit and hence an increase in emittance. This paper describes technique compensating this distortion by using seismometers monitor misalignment real-time. first demonstration was achieved Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) KEK Japan. feed-forward system consisted seismometer-based monitoring system, FPGA-based processor stripline kicker plus associated electronics. Through application kick calculated from position single quadruple, able remove about 80% component jitter that correlated quadrupole. As significant fraction ATF final focus due sources other than misalignment, amounted approximately 15% reduction absolute jitter.
