ABSTRACT
The monkeypox virus (MPXV), an Orthopoxvirus family member, is the zoonotic agent that causes mpox (formerly known as monkeypox). ongoing pandemic has caused cases across continents involving 110 countries. This study aimed to assess knowledge and its determinants among healthcare personnel.This cross-sectional was conducted from June 6 25, 2022, 17 Arab self-administered questionnaire consists of 53 questions assessing about virus.In total, 5874 medical students clinical doctors countries participated in this study. Only 13.8% (n = 812) respondents have ever received information during their studies medicine. mean score 13.84, median 15 (range 1-34). More than half (51.3%, n 3012) heard before. A low proportion participants had a good level on mpox. 11.7% correctly identified natural host incubation period (58.9%) were aware signs symptoms Few (28%) believed smallpox similar symptoms. Specialist higher (AOR 2.96, 95% CI 2.24-3.92, p < 0.001) other cadres.Mpox awareness Arabic practitioners low; hence immediate action creating arab professionals need hour. crucial early detection prevention spread.
