ABSTRACT
We perform an old school, one-loop renormalization of the Abelian-Higgs model in Unitary and $R_\xi$ gauges, focused on scalar potential gauge boson mass. Our goal is to demonstrate this simple context validity at quantum level, which could open way for until now (mostly) avoided framework loop computations. indeed find that consistent equivalent level $\beta$-functions. Then we compare renormalized, finite, Higgs two gauges again equivalence. This equivalence needs not only a complete cancellation fixing parameter $\xi$ from but also requires its $\xi$-independent part be equal result. follow behaviour system by plotting Renormalization Group trajectories Lines Constant Physics, with former well known curves latter, determined finite parts counter-terms, particularly suited comparison non-perturbative studies.
