ABSTRACT
The characterization of ceramic foams via X-ray microtomography imaging method is often restricted to a general overview samples, either perform qualitative or quantitative analyses. To assess the foam with focus on some specific components its structure, such as hollow struts' cavities and open cells, generalized characterizations must be overcome. This work presents image analysis methodologies, based open-source software, tools, plugins, achieve aforementioned characterizations. SiC ZrO2 samples were analyzed results compared those accomplished pieces commercial software. show good agreement between software applications, indicating that presented methodologies can freely applied by any researcher analyze their foams.
