ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper is devoted to the description of the scattered far fields from a spheroid (ellipsoid of revolution) illuminated by a femtosecond optical pulse for a large size parameter (α≈160, evaluated from the carrier wavelength of the pulse) and a refractive index n=1.33. The time dependent scattering intensity is presented as intensity versus time, at different scattering angles and results are compared with the case of a perfect sphere with the aspect ratio as the main parameter.
