ABSTRACT

Summary
Standard energy-consumption testing, providing the only publicly available quantifiable measure of battery electric vehicle (BEV) energy consumption, is crucial for promoting transparency and accountability in electrified automotive industry; however, significant discrepancies between standard testing real-world driving have hindered environmental assessments BEVs their broader adoption. In this study, we propose a data-driven evaluation method to characterize BEV consumption. By decoupling impact profile, our approach generalizable various conditions. experiments with estimating achieve 3.84% estimation error 13 different multiregional standardized test cycles 7.12% 106 diverse trips. Our results highlight great potential proposed public awareness consumption through while also reliable fundamental model BEVs.
