ABSTRACT
Abstract A new organic–inorganic hybrid compound, 1,2-diaminonium cyclohexane bis trichlorostanate(II) monohydrate (C6H10(NH3)2)[SnCl3]2·H2O, was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1 ¯ and the asymmetric unit consists of a water molecule, two [SnCl3]− anions and the 1,2-diaminonium cyclohexane (C6H10(NH3)2)2+ cation, which are interlinked by three varieties of hydrogen bonding interactions, namely N H…O, N H…Cl and O H…Cl, forming a chain network. The grown crystal was characterized by FT-IR and Raman spectra, which were recorded in the 4000–400 cm−1 and 4000–50 cm−1 ranges respectively. Solid state MAS-NMR spectra showed five isotropic resonances, for 13C, confirming the asymmetric unit of the title compound determined by X-ray diffraction. The dielectric conductivity of this compound was measured in the temperature range 298–383 K and the frequency range 209 Hz–5 MHz, and this revealed that the conduction in the material is due to a hopping process.
