ABSTRACT
Digitization within the framework of Industry 4.0 is considered biggest and fastest driver change in history manufacturing industry. While size a company becoming less essential, ability to adapt quickly changing market conditions new technologies more important than ever. This trend particularly applies companies' software landscapes, where individual sub-processes services must be orchestrated, seamlessly integrated, iteratively renewed according ever-increasing user requirements. However, inflexible, closed monolithic applications as well self-programmed stand-alone tools that are difficult integrate still predominant engineering domain. A complete reimplementation existing, proprietary their integration into large providers often not economically feasible, especially for small medium-sized machinery plant manufacturers. In this context, so-called Process-Driven Approach (PDA) offers sustainable tool-neutral opportunity process tool orchestration, enabling an easy by consistent utilization separation concerns principle. The PDA, originating from business informatics, mainly based on standardized machine-executable visual modeling language Business Process Model Notation (BPMN). Using semantic enhancements found version 2.0, BPMN just used model processes but also execute between different systems.
