ABSTRACT
Abstract The paper presents a process of adaptation the Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR devices for needs immersive training application. was described on example virtual 3D human body atlas, created using EON Studio software. aim this application is to facilitate make it more attractive learn anatomy students medical disciplines. Possibilities are, among others: selection visibility level certain organs or groups organs, creation complex sections in 3 planes launching animations selected organs. Application each device required additional programming work. work included both Graphical User Interface different display resolutions, as well preparation communication between integrated orientation tracking systems application, because none low-cost HMDs has position system, allow navigation space, two solutions were proposed, traditional approach form professional system. First proposed dedicated, customized controller built PUT Laboratory commercial electronics printing technologies. second solution controlling via specific gestures recognized by Kinect device. After developed, group tested all possibilities interaction with environment HMD solutions. During evaluation performed test group, features like field view, weight general impressions feeling after prolonged use taken into consideration. Intuitiveness evaluated separately. can be used during subsequent versions educational design new peripheral devices.
