Isolated perineal endometriosis? Yes ... an exceptional location

ABSTRACT
Endometriosis is a nonmalignant condition characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside uterus. Perineal endometriosis, an uncommon occurrence, involves presence in superficial perineum. In this report, we present unique case 40-year-old woman with no known history endometriosis. She had undergone episiotomy 10 months prior and presented swelling left perineal region, signs inflammation or fever. To investigate condition, pelvic MRI was performed, revealing rounded collection area, leading to suspicion endometriosis based on patient's pain pattern medical history. The diagnosis subsequently confirmed after drainage.
