ABSTRACT
This paper is aimed at analysing the levelised cost of energy (LCOE) onshore wind turbine generators (WTGs) that are in operation beyond their design lifetime. In order to do so, LCOE approach introduced and input parameters discussed for a UK deployment. addition, methodology presented support economic lifetime extension investment decision making end an asset's As part case study, farm consisting six 900 kW WTGs subjected different combinations i) (5–15 years), ii) assumptions (pessimistic, central, optimistic), iii) reinvestment types (retrofits). Results indicate central scenario, estimates 22.40 £/MWh achievable.
