ABSTRACT
Partial meniscectomy is one of the most common surgical strategy for a meniscal injury, but sometimes, patients complain knee pain due to an overload in ablated compartment. In these cases, implantation tissue engineering scaffold could be indicated. Currently, two commercial scaffolds, based on collagen or polycaprolactone-polyurethane (PCL-PU), are available meniscus scaffolding. short term follow-up assessments, both showed clinical improvement and formation. However, long-term studies carried out PCL-PU that new decreased volume assumed irregular shape. Moreover, some was totally reabsorbed, without formation.Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) combined with scaffolds represents promising approach treating defects because their multipotency self-renewal. this work, we aimed compare behaviour MSCs chondrocytes vitro. express integrins binds fibronectin (FN), so also investigate effect FN coating bioactivity scaffold.
