ABSTRACT
This study investigated the cross sectional area (CSA) and fat infiltration of epaxial muscles in Dachshunds with compressive spinal cord lesions due to intervertebral disc herniation (IVDH) dogs non-compressive fibrocartilaginous embolism (FCE). The CSA multifidi longissimus dorsi were determined from T1 weighted magnetic resonance images. Difference between lesion- non-lesion side was assessed using mixed model analysis. FCE analysed independent sample t-tests. There no difference or sides Dachshunds. had greater (multifidus P = 0.036, < 0.001) less compared (longissimus 0.017). Duration neurological deficits, age, body size conformation are likely have influenced groups.
