ABSTRACT
Woodchip bioreactor (WBR) is one of the green infrastructures in agriculture system to reduce nitrate from agricultural drainage and stormwater. A lot abiotic factors have been reported that affect removal lacking a comprehensive understanding. In this study, we studied eight important factors, including media age, hydraulic retention time (HRT), influent concentration (Cin), temperature, dissolved organic carbon (DOC), oxygen (DO), pH, effective porosity (ρe) WBR-filling materials. Based on database included 10,179 sets data 63 peer-reviewed articles, rate (NRR) efficiency (NRE) corresponding by different categories were comprehensively reported. According database, study found optimal range for NRR NRE WBR different. Regarding NRR, HRT, Cin, effluent DOC, DO, ρe first year, 0-5 h, 10-20 mg L-1, 20-25 °C, 0-0.5 7-8, 0.6-0.7, respectively. For NRE, 500-3000 0-10 10-15 >50 4-5, 0.4-0.5, Moreover, principal component analysis (PCA) indicated field studies' components laboratory studies. Furthermore, structural equation modeling (SEM) also revealed causal relationship totally Lessons can be incorporated into DNBR designs, especially improving rates optimizing factors. It provides insights regarding contributions independently comprehensively.
