ABSTRACT
High entropy alloys (HEAs), offering a multi-dimensional compositional space, provide almost limitless design opportunities surpassing the frontiers of structural materials development. However, an in-depth appraisal fundamental physics behind strengthening in HEAs is essential order to leverage them achieve greater flexibility application oriented design. This viewpoint paper concentrates on issues regarding inherent fluctuations and corresponding impact highlighted. In particular, metal based criteria multi-phase are discussed comparisons between single-phase drawn.
