ABSTRACT
Sitting at the nexus of brain and behavior, peripheral physiological signals provide a powerful window toward understanding body mind. However, currently available physiology sensing devices have number roadblocks for utilizing their data. Consumer-grade like FitBit Apple Watch are easy to wear on wrist but very limited access consumer-grade data derived by black-box signal processing algorithms, which can make it difficult interpret in research contexts. On other hand, research-grade (e.g. Empatica, Shimmer, BIOPAC) greater high-quality remain closed ecosystems high price points that out reach many. To bridge these gaps biometrics solutions, our labs launched an open-source platform called EmotiBit (http://www.emotibit.com/). wirelessly stream locally record from multi-modal constellation sensors, including electrodermal activity (EDA), multi-wavelength PPG, medical-grade temperature sensor, 9-axis IMU, growing list derivative metrics. The software is open-source, 100% owned user, hardware design compatible with Adafruit Feather (Arduino) ecosystem easily sense nearly anywhere body.
