ABSTRACT
Abstract The SO 2 chemisorption on the Sb-doped SnO 2 surface in the temperature range 20–500 °C and the initial pressure of 30–300 Pa was studied. Several SO 2 chemisorption forms characterized by different strength of their binding to the surface and effective charge were shown to exist. The experimental results were compared with those of quantum chemical simulation. Electrochemical characteristics of a SO 2 sensor on the basis of sodium-conducting solid electrolyte with a Sb-doped SnO 2 as working electrode were determined.
