ABSTRACT
In some countries, party membership is often associated with returns. We studied the relationship between and self-assessed health. Data were obtained from 2017 Chinese General Social Survey (N = 11,641). Self-assessed health was defined as personal evaluation of physical psychological well-being. Logistic regression used to explore relevant associations. Members Communist Party (CCP) more likely than non-CCP respondents register self-assessments relatively healthy (beta 0.319, SE 0.098, P < 0.01, CI: 0.127–0.512) 0.257, 0.072, 0.115–0.399) conditions. Previous studies have overlooked health-related rewards CCP membership. Reforms China's public system can be smoothly implemented probably because benefits accrued members.
