Abstract The total synthesis of (±)-lycoposerramine-R, a novel skeletal type of Lycopodium alkaloid, was accomplished via the Diels–Alder reaction, the stereoselective introduction of a methyl group, the regio- and stereoselective reductive amination, and the construction of a pyridone ring.
