ABSTRACT
Bacterial resistance is interfering with the action of antibiotics for clinical use in treating pathologies. The search new substances capable combating this necessary. An alternative to these extract medicinal plants. Plathymenia reticulata, plant Fabaceae family, a common tree species from Brazilian cerrado, and commonly used areas environmental degradation. This rich phenolic compounds, such as flavonoids tannins, compounds that are associated various biological effects. A hydroethanolic bark reticulata (HEPrB) was produced then tests were carried out verify direct antibacterial activity, modulatory effect their toxicity Drosophila melanogaster flies. Through analysis UPLC, wide variety contained HEPrB observed. Direct activity observed standard strain Staphylococcus aureus, however, showed antagonistic or no significance relation tested study. As toxicity, did not show significant damage proposed model. results emphasize care when associating consumption teas treatments use.
