ABSTRACT
Selecting the appropriate bearing system for rotor requires a good knowledge of available solutions and operating conditions machine. For newly designed machinery in adverse conditions, selecting bearings that ensure correct long-lasting operation can be extremely challenging. Difficulties increase when machine's parameters are beyond technical capabilities solutions. This article presents course design process results numerical experimental research prototype microturbine uses an innovative rotor-bearing system. Due to new tilting pad journal were designed, which sliding surfaces pads made polymeric material low-viscosity medium liquid form was used as lubricating medium. The basic selected pre-checked by calculations. oil-free turbomachinery thus developed subjected testing under near-real conditions. these tests confirmed performed very well, ensuring stable high-speed over wide speed range. Despite unfavourable lubrication no signs wear observed. obtained indicate new, promising direction development systems turbomachinery, which, with suitable bearings, low-boiling working
