ABSTRACT
Locking-steel-pipe (LSP) piles connect with adjacent joints to form a pile row enclosure structure. Due the advantages of quick construction, efficiency in installation, and recycle utilization, connected LSP are frequently used as retaining structure deep excavation. However, systematic studies deformation mechanism rarely reported, it still lack experimental evidence optimize design. In this study, braced supported excavation model test sand was designed conducted investigate characteristics Three dimensional (3D) printing technique creatively applied manufacture piles. The results show that, "S" shaped distribution bending moments is observed along shaft when executed; deflection develops deep-seated movements toward side went deeper, resulting "bowl" ground settlement. With piles, rotating trend occurred between pairs locking joint, severe open joint arose on side. There gradual reduction earth pressure behind wall depth. two struts level had no obvious changing, owing effect inner struts.
