Validation of the Bangla Version of the HeartQoL Health-Related Quality-of-Life Questionnaire for Patients With Coronary Heart Disease in Bangladesh

ABSTRACT
To evaluate the psychometric properties of Bangla version HeartQoL questionnaire, a core heart disease health-related quality-of-life (HRQoL) instrument, specifically in coronary (CHD) patients. The English was translated into and then cross-sectional test-retest study undertaken 2 specialized cardiac hospitals Bangladesh. All patients admitted for percutaneous intervention or artery bypass graft between April October 2019 diagnosed with CHD were eligible recruitment. HeartQoL, EQ-5D-3L, PHQ-9, GAD-7 questionnaires administered before after discharge. Factor structure, internal consistency, construct validity assessed. A total 945 enrolled subgroup 198 providing data. Mokken scale analysis supported 2-factor structure (physical/mental subscales) questionnaire. Although no floor effects observed, there some evidence ceiling effect on emotional subscale 16.1% questionnaire demonstrated satisfactory consistency (Cronbach's alpha > 0.75), discriminative (lower scores poorer health), responsiveness to change (effect sizes 0.23 0.68). found be valid, reliable, responsive measure HRQoL However, future research is needed around its use, particularly terms potential cultural sensitivity.
