ABSTRACT
Abstract In Paper I, we presented an overview of the Southern-sky MWA Rapid Two-metre (SMART) survey, including survey design and search pipeline. While combination MWA’s large field-of-view voltage capture system brings a speed ${\sim} 450\, {\textrm{deg}}^{2}\,\textrm{h}^{-1}$ , progression relies on availability compact configuration Phase II array. Over past few years, by taking advantage multiple windows opportunity when was available, have advanced to 75% planned sky coverage. To date, about 10% data collected thus far been processed for first-pass search, where 10 min observation is dispersion measures out 250 ${\textrm{pc cm}}^{-3}$ realise shallow that largely sensitive long-period pulsars. The ongoing analysis has led two new pulsar discoveries, as well independent discovery rediscovery previously incorrectly characterised pulsar, all from 3\% $ which candidate scrutiny completed. this sequel describe strategies further detailed follow-up improved localisation convergence timing solution, illustrate them using example discoveries. processing also re-detection 120 pulsars in SMART observing band, bringing total number detected date with 180, these are used assess sensitivity current pipelines. second-pass (deep survey) expected yield three-fold increase pulsars, substantial improvement millisecond adopting optimal de-dispersion plans. will complement highly successful Parkes High Time Resolution Universe at 1.2–1.5 GHz, inform future efforts such those low-frequency Square Kilometre Array (SKA-Low).
