ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT The Chronos 14 Carbon-Cycle Facility is a new radiocarbon laboratory at the University of New South Wales, Australia. Built around an Ionplus 200 kV MIni-CArbon DAting System (MICADAS) Accelerator Mass Spectrometer (AMS) installed in October 2019, facility was established to address major challenges Earth, Environmental and Archaeological sciences. Here we report overview facility, pretreatment methods currently employed (bones, carbonates, peat, pollen, charcoal, wood) results stable isotope measurements undertaken on wide range sample types. Measurements international standards, known-age blank samples demonstrate capable measuring C from Anthropocene back nearly 50,000 years ago. Future work will focus improving our understanding Earth system managing resources future warmer world.
