ABSTRACT
Abstract In situ conservation is central to contemporary global biodiversity protection and the predominant emphasis of international regulation funding strategies. Ex approaches, in contrast, have been relegated a subsidiary role their direct contributions limited. We draw on variety sources make case for an enhanced ex conservation. note advances occurring within institutions specializing stress that, although much remains be done, many constraints are being addressed. argue that evidence increasing extinction rates, exacerbated by climate change, challenges wisdom heavy dependence strategies necessitates increased development approaches.
