ABSTRACT
In 2019, the National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA) in Korea established a health technology reassessment (HTR) system to manage life cycle of technologies and develop operational measures promoting efficient use healthcare resources. The purpose this study is introduce detailed implementation process practical functional methods HTR implemented by NECA.The structured multidisciplinary method for analyzing currently used based on latest information parameters, such as clinical safety, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness optimizing resources well social ethical issues. All decision-making stages are carefully reviewed transparently managed. committee makes significant decisions, subcommittee decides details related assessment process.Since pilot began 2018, 262 cases have been reassessed, which, 126 (48.1 percent) were services not covered Health Insurance (NHI). Over past 5 years, approximately 130 recommendations in-use determined committee. near future, it will be necessary officially establish Korean legal foundation optimize NHI system.
