ABSTRACT

These latter impacts, which are mainly caused by transport, have been generally ignored. As a result, there is lack data on impacts in terms energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. This paper presents applies methodology for quantifying CO 2 emissions, both vessel fleet as whole per passenger (both trip day). results indicate that average tourist Antarctica 5.44 t emissions passenger, or 0.49 day. Approximately 70% these attributable cruising 30% flying, highlights relevance transport this type tourism.
