A new species in the Old World genus Debregeasia (Urticaceae), D. australis Friis, Wilmot-Dear & C.J.Chen, based on material from forest habitats eastern Queensland, Australia, is described, illustrated and mapped. synopsis of a key to recognised provided as supplement revision by C. M. 1988. orientalis, described China since 1988, accepted, Bangladesh (D. elliptica dentata) are reinstated, other taxonomic changes made 1988 summarised.
