Traumatic Events and Tonic Immobility

Tonic immobility is a basic defense strategy which has not been studied in depth humans. Data suggest that it may be relatively frequent phenomenon victims of rape and sexual abuse, but its occurrence systematically explored other types trauma. We carried out retrospective study sample 100 university students to establish whether tonic varies depending on the nature worst trauma experienced, defined subjectively by each participant.
