ABSTRACT
Abstract A group of 94 nondemented patients self-referred to an outpatient memory clinic for difficulties were studied determine the incidence single versus multi-domain mild cognitive impairment (MCI) using Petersen criteria. Fifty-five community dwelling normal controls (NC) participants without complaints also recruited. Tests assessing executive control, naming/lexical retrieval, and declarative administered. Thirty-four exhibited single-domain MCI, 43 presented with MCI. When entire MCI sample ( n = 77) was subjected a cluster analysis, 14 classified amnesic 21 dysexecutive 42 into mixed/multi-domain involving low scores on tests letter fluency, “animal” delayed recognition discriminability. Analyses comparing three cluster-derived groups NC confirmed presence groups. The mixed produced lower fluency compared naming group. In summary, is quite common.
